Apprenticeship Training — The Traditional Way

Doug completed state-indentured apprenticeship training in three trades — millwright, pipefitter, and welding/metal fabrication (GMAW/MIG) — through Fox Valley Technical College. The coursework was completed through evening classes while working full-time in the industry — years of nights in the classroom after days in the plant.

This is the foundation of the firm’s credibility: training earned the traditional way — in the trade, under journeymen, to state apprenticeship standards. Few contractors in the region hold apprenticeship credentials across all three trades.

In the Trade Every Day

Doug works full-time as a millwright pipe fitter at Mativ, an industrial plant. This is daily, current practice in an operating facility — the same standards enforced inside the plant are applied to every Hydro Dynamics project.

That experience is organized into two divisions:

• Shop Division — high-tolerance waterjet cutting (OMAX 2652), MIG/TIG welding, and metal fabrication.
• Field Division — heavy lifting and rigging, industrial concrete, millwright plant work, machinery installation and alignment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and plant maintenance and shutdown work.
